• 5:30-6:30 Workshop - AVIVA KHADRA (NY) - BASIC HULA - $23 pre-reg/$28 at door - Learn the ancient art of Hawaiian dance with the basic technique, steps, music and costuming where the hips keep the rhythm and the hands tell the story. Try this class to check out a truly lovely dance style, or use it as a starting point for material to fuse in Saqra's  "FUSING or *CON*FUSING?" workshop concepts and bring it to your Bellydance!
• 6:30-8:00 Workshop - SAQRA (Seattle, WA) - AM I FUSING OR *CON*FUSING? - $28 pre-reg/$33 at door - How to convert steps from different styles into belly dance steps. How to truly fuse styles instead of just adding steps from other dance forms. • 9:00-10:00 Workshop - DEBRA SOUKI (Portland, OR) - FOCUSING YOUR ENERGY - $23 pre-reg/$28 at door - Dancing from your Chakras - Take your quality of movement to the next level as you learn to dance from your true "core" the chakra system. Understand how to express the energy within each of the 7 chakra points: tribal, creative, passion, love, voice, imagination, and spiritual. You will learn to communicate and intepret your body's own language to add depth, passion, and dimension to your performance. (Beginners are welcome).
• 10:00-11:00 Workshop - JANE ARCHER (Portland, OR) - EXPRESSIVE GESTURES - $23 pre-reg/$28 at door - Learn to access your deepest self-expression, honoring yourself, your dance, your ancestors. Turn your movement into story through intention, expressive gestures, & use of the earthly elements.  Join us in honoring the feminine expression within you through truly expressive dancing.  All levels.
• 11:00-Noon Workshop - AVIVA KHADRA (NY) - SHIMMY³ - $23 pre-reg/$28 at door - Shimmies, Shimmies and more Shimmies! Sustain, maintain and layer those shimmies! Safe execution of the original Egyptian style shimmy... easy on your knees and back and can be layered into all your moves
• 1:00-2:30 Workshop - ANEENA (Novato, CA) - VEIL WITHOUT SPINS  - $28 pre-reg/$33 at door - You don't have to spin yourself sick to do wonderful veil work! Some veils for class use. - One of our regular annual instructors, Aneena herself managed to get a standing ovation out of the Rakkasah East (Somerset, NJ) audience in 2006 and again in 2007 which is no small feat. You thought you couldn't do lovely veil... now enjoy getting lovely without throwing up with a power performer.
• 3:00- 4:00 Workshop - AVIVA KHADRA (NY) - SHAKE IT! HOT TAMBOURINE TECHNIQUE! - $23 pre-reg/$28 at door - Don't overlook this exciting prop, you can spice up any performance with a tambourine. Bring a tambourine if you have one, or you may have to dance with a paper plate! Some inexpensive ones also available for sale.
• 4:45-5:45 Workshop - HALIMA (Sumner, WA) - T&A with HALIMA  - $23 pre-reg/$28 at door - Finding and using pecs and glutes for crisp control of chest movements and glute shimmies.
• 6:15-7:45 Workshop - SHUKRIYA (Pinole, CA) - 6/8 CHOREO with ZILLS!  - $28 pre-reg/$33 at door - Hot, upbeat choreography featuring an exotic rhythm and your finger cymbals! Truly suitable for all levels of dancer or cymbal player due to different addable layers! - Shukriya is a master dancer who will get you working those cymbals... while moving! • 1:00-2:30 Workshop - A'ISHA AZAR (Spokane, WA) - INTRO to RAQS NEJDI HADITH  - $28 pre-reg/$33 at door -  Expand your repertoire with Raqs Nejdi Hadith - a female couples style party dance from central Saudi Arabia
• 3:00 - 4:00 Workshop - JANE ARCHER (Portland, OR) - FLOORWORK - $23 pre-reg/$28 at door - Many people are intimidated by floorwork.  Turn this into a personal strength using smooth movements outside the few “standard” floor moves we usually see!  We’ll explore getting comfortable dancing on this lower level.  Bring kneepads if you choose.
• 4:45-6:15 Workshop - OBERON (Portland, OR) - SIMPLY SAIDI  - $28 pre-reg/$33 at door - This dance from Upper Egypt is often performed with sticks as in the familiar “cane dance” - Raks Assaya. Energetic and grounded the specific steps of Saidi dance can also add an exciting depth to Egyptian Style Cabaret . From this workshop you will actually walk away with a set of five vivacious Saidi steps and learn how to combine them into mini combos that enhance your performance. Individual attention is characteristic of Oberon's workshops as are descriptive hand-outs that accompany this class. All levels welcome
